Fright Night turned into a pleasant, light traveling horror characters sympathetic, however, always leaves produce a shudder or laugh in Excel for the horror comedy. As a remake, it is absurd for the reform, which aims to exploit the good things that many fans of the genre of recent eruptions of hatred slicker "reimaginations" Look, the sexiest stars, the CGI effects, and the dreaded 3-D technology.
3-D effects are hard to ignore, as director Craig Gillespie highlights the face throwing objects at the audience every 15 minutes or less, as a reminder. A veteran of comedies such as Lars and true love and Mr. Woodcock, Gillespie struggles not only with elements of horror - the fear does not exist and grotesque gore is computer generated - but the action is irregular, sometimes obscured by a hand, and the sequence of mid-range, if, in the absence of emotion.
Manuscript, by Marti Nixon (I'm number four, a couple dozen cycles of Buffy the Vampire Slayer), also shows some problems, plagued by awkward leaps in narrative logic. Some of the problems resulting from modifications to the original story - the relationship between a magician and a goth-y vampire hunter is much weaker than being a vampire-slaying of a horror movie star - and some appear only for convenience-polished over details (no one will notice that the eight young people more or less disappeared in a row?). Yelchin is a sympathetic Everyman, while promoting his character in the cool clique feels a bit deliberately pulling the MTV generation, and Poots is a strong gal PAL Face. Despite the shortcomings of his character design (including a history of substance unnecessarily trying to fit into the vampire mythology), Tennant gives it a fun, well watered, Russell Brand-ish walk, giving the bulk of the humor of the film. Farrell is the real weak link that replaces the original Jerry Suave, Debonair worldliness low looks good and the charm and charisma of a mason.
