To produce a dialogue to clarify the feelings, motivations and the stories behind the full meaning can not really be transferred to a casual observer, without the endless interjections of people who were there. Therefore, the parties usually spend too much time preface what you see around, but the theatrical release, it is impossible to do. What is displayed on the screen is the only explanation we can, and Apollo 18, which is not enough. Who are these men, strange creatures face of the moon? As far as I know, I'm a thirty-ish trio of astronauts with families who took part in a barbeque.
Apollo 18 begins with a brief introduction to NASA closely followed by the images of home cinema grill above. The public was informed of other missions to the moon would be canceled due to budget cuts, but the smile three, eating hamburgers browsers otherwise. They are preparing for the Apollo mission, which involves the setting up spy equipment ninth on the lunar surface to monitor the Soviet Union. Excited, but can not tell anyone uncomfortable, the three astronauts took off under cover of night to their secret mission. That strange encounter almost immediately.
One left the airport, the other two countries, and quickly find the occupation of the Soviet Union abandoned a short distance from the pod. No blood was everywhere, but the car seems to remain unchanged. Arose during the Cold War paranoia, a couple of fans look out for cosmonauts and find one for a long time ago, a rock protruding dead foot. It seems that the murder, but what could this be accomplished?
Department of Defense denies any knowledge and speculates the dead Soviet should have gone to the moon alone, a prediction that did much to reassure the astronauts fear. Even if it does, it is certainly not to explain why he met his end, or what might be behind a number of mysterious events such as the destruction of a flag or frequent cutting off communication. The poor bastards know in due course by a spider shimmies like a rock its way into their costumes and transform their red scare the aliens scared.
With a proper introduction and perhaps a different threat, Apollo 18 could have been launched by a creepy, at the edge of your seat, conclusion, but its current state, the final act is two guys generic white moon rocks tried to sow. In its commitment to live in the moment, the script of Brian Miller uses innocuous exchanges, such as arguing over who gets to eat carrots as a substitute for actual character description. In a way, is really the thing seems more like a true story, but I'm not sure this is a story of someone who would be fun.
Recently, the low forties horror movie used the same technique images, but he wisely used his first action to allow his characters to have fun. Consequently, when the shit hit the fan driver was at least a hint of personality change to let the audience play favorites. There are no divergent personalities here. The guy who stayed on the boat, I think his name is John, might as well have the guy with the thing in his suit, I think his name is Walker, and the other guy, possibly named Ben shouting things like "I'm not going to leave behind." I know that the NASA program was fairly uniform in the early 1970s, but these three make it look like Stepford Wives Slick Willy, George W, and Obama.
Director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego made clear with something visual. It is a testament to how wonderful it is with the camera that the Apollo 18 is still a bit of play. Objects jump at the right time to scare and the natural darkness of the moon and the rugged terrain are used very well. Ultimately, the way the film uses his time is inexcusable. No warning for the first half of the film, but curiously, none of this piece is used for characters to speak their minds well. That is the whole process. Thirty minutes can seem like a short trip to the moon, but I can assure you, locked in a bus with these three, which seems an eternity. The second hour is probably better, but the benefit is only cheap thrills and unnecessary.
