I am a perpetual optimist. That means, literally, my optimism on the lists indefinitely. The glass is always half full. The sunrise is beautiful forever. I always get up on the right side of the bed. Kittens are cute. Things always work out. Life is amazing! And that part of me wants to see a movie like Larry Crowne and assume, first, the product is transcendent and uplifting, life-changing, hell kind of a combination of Castaway - Pretty Woman in which the protagonists we hook the jump and make the audience cry * * never in her life emotionally less than spectacular screen (both have done for us previously and had a lot of scripts).
But here's the thing. (And remember, I'm an optimist in the bunch, kittens, and all), what are the expectations of critics here? As the movie poster says Hanks and Roberts (Hanks and directed by, oh my), all of a sudden at the level of what "should happen on the screen" jumps to a few Oscar-winning level. And the man who is a real bitch.
Because the back of a trailer full of "moments" and the catchy soundtrack to the film critics are not necessarily stick. You see, there are some films that capture our hearts. And then there are others who want so damn bad for capturing our hearts, but they do not. This movie shows the second. Hanks (directed That Thing You Do - 92%), seems to be trying pretty hard to make the perfect romantic comedy-ish movie. I do not think the critics agree. Rotten Watch Larry Crowne Online Free.
